Morning good on the last morning of August... end of the ghost month... morrow comes with the promise of HOPE and HOLLIES for the HOLIDAYS!!! Yehey "BER" months are back!!! Happiness all around, cheering will abound... feasting will crash diets and I am one for it!!! HAPPY BER MONTHS EVERYONE!!!

Car Woes

My car got bruised by an overtaking PUJ who was racing another jeep for waiting passengers near the side walk... I hate the idea that they now cost me 5000 pesos for the repair while they are only after an 8 pesos passenger fare!!!

He escaped my wrath and I was not able to collect from him... Istorbo na madugas pa!!!

EUGENE DOMINGO GETS STANDING OVATIONS

I was hesitant at first to attend the invitation of good friend Rams David to watch BONA, the stage version of former critically acclaimed movie of the same title starred by Nora Aunor and Phillip Salvador. I was expecting it to be boring, over-acting and predictable and boy I was wrong to the nth degree.

Let me start by congratulating the cast headed by comic genius Eugene Domingo, I am at a lost words and superlatives for this gal, she kept me glued to my seat even ignoring the 15 min. intermission and foregoing my washroom visit afraid to miss the next scene due the long queues.

Eugene played her comic portion with shrewdness, intelligence and convinced her audience that she is a gentle heart despite a sharp tongue, one that can never hurt a fly. While her dramatic highlights showed her as a nymph (ingit lahat ng bading with matching ohhs and ahhs sa mga sexy scenes ni Uge kay Edgar), as a clueless lover making the wrong choices and justifying her weaknesses (baklang-baklang mag-isip si Bona).

Edgar Allan Guzman reveals perfect comic timing, fresh sexy appeal and surprisingly a convincingly dark bone within an angelic façade. This guy promises to stay long in the acting biz given more major projects that will showcase him as a lead actor.  He may not be the Greek god one dreams of but he is definitely a charmer that all girls can bring home to their folks.

Phil Noble almost stole the thunder from his co-stars but still remained the most generous support to his less experience co-stars. I wonder what science did to him that I almost doubted myself in recognizing him as my former director and friend. He has not age a bit.

Time flies too fast for child stars like BJ Forbes who declairs his now a young man owning a “Titi” and no longer “putotoy” breaking audience into solid laughter.

Julienne Mendoza plays the love struck landlord of Bona is so lovable and delivers some of the corniest yet finest pick- up lines that melted the ladies hearts in the gallery.

The script of Layeta P. Bucoy is updated and very now, it is smooth and easy to the ears while. I believe that Direk Soxy Topacio outdid himself this time, the treatment and transition technique were seamless and quiet. Kudos to the whole casts for they have given me a night not only enjoyed but also remembered.

ANG KULTO NI BB GANDANGHARI

Bitbit ni Mother Ricky Reyes ang isang bus ng kanyang mga haircutters to support BONA, pero nagmukha itong kulto ni BB Gandanghari na nanood din ng gabing iyon.

Isang bus kasi ng mga BB look-alike ang hatak ni Mudrang Ricky, lahat mga naka-muk-up at naka-dress ang mga yetang dyosa ng buhok, grabe parang costume party sa gallery ng PETA teather na nakatutok ang mata nila sa Reyna nilang si BB na  naka-upo sa harap ng stage at naka-titig sa bukol ni Edgar.

Namataan din namin sa audience sina John Lapuz, Diego at Ronald Carballo who were there to support Uge at the same time ay sumamba sa ganda ni BB, dahil outfit kung outfit din ang mga hitad naming friends.

It was also nice time to reacquaint with friends like Lilibeth Resonable of GMA-7, Jaya, PPL’s Perry Lansingan, Rey Lanada and Maristel Fernandez.

Thanks Rams David for a night that will surely be one for the books.

IBANG KLASENG MAG-AMA

Totoo kaya ang tsismis na dahil sa medyo may idad na si ama ay anak naman nitong bagets ang hinahada na ng mga pa-gurls?

Dating sikat na actor/dancer si Ama kaya naman alam din nya ang advantage at benepisyo sa pagkakaroon ng mga gay fans and customer. Yes… hindi siya maramot na ipatikim ang kanyang maragul na kayamanan sa mga diwatang handing bayaran ang kanyang anito.

Pero dahil malapit na rin naman siyang mag-gradweyt sa larangang ito ay sinimulan na raw niyang ipaliwanag sa baguhan pero may future rin na anak ang kahalagahan ng kanyang pananaw sa bading.

Balitang ipinatikim na raw ni Ama si Anak sa isang mayaman nitong parokyano para pakinabangan nito ng mas mahaba ang kabataan at kasariwaan nito.

And yes…tulad ng Ama, guapo at mas maragul daw si Anak… ang kaibahan nga lang mas matangkad si Bagets kaysa sa pandak na ama.

HATAW SUPER BODIES SUPER BORING

Last nights HATAW SUPER BODIES WAS SUPER BORING!!!

Music was as old as its director!

Choreography was as uninspired and pacing was a super drag!

Considering its on its 7th year... then this is probably their final itch! I hope next year will be more updated and worth the time and money of both sponsors and ticket buyers.

BRUNO ALBERTO HANDANG MAGPATULI PARA SA AA

KASALANG CARMINA AT ZOREN THIS YEAR NA

Excited na ang magka-partner na Zoren Legaspi at Carmina Villaroel sa plano nilang pagpapakasal bago matapos ang taong ito.

Sabi nga ni Mina ay buwan na lamang ang kanilang pinagpipilian pero definitely ay pasok daw sa taong ito pero si Zoren na raw ang pinag-aasikaso nya.

Excited na rin ang kanilang mga anak sa kanilang nuptials dahil sila na rin ang tatayong mga abay ng kanilang mga magulang.

In fairness habang pinanonood naming ang interview ng magpartner sa Showbiz Inside Report last Saturday ay kitang-kita ang comfort and security ni Mina at Zoren sa kanilang partnership kaya naman maging mga produkto ay hinahabol ang samahan nila bilang endorsers dahil sa solid family values and standards nilang dalawa.

Here’s hoping po na talagang matuloy at maging mas masaya pa at successful ang pamilyang ito dahil napakaganda nilang ehemplo sa kapwa nilang mga taong pamilyado.

ALBERTO BRUNO HANDANG MAGPATULI MANALO LANG SA ARTISTA ACADEMY

Sa aming interview sa Fil/Italian hunk na si Alberto Bruno ay napako ang aming usapan sa pag-amin niya na hindi pa siya binyagan bilang isang binata. Sa idad na 16 years old ay  3^rd year college na si Bruno sa Italya at dahil nga sa doon siya lumaki at naninirahan ay hindi uso doon ang pagpapatuli.

“Hindi po kasi uso at malaking isyu sa Italia ang circumcision kaya naman po talagang malaking gulat ko na isyu pala ito dito sa Pilipinas!” ani Bruno.

Tinanong din naming siya kung handa siyang magpatuli kung sakaling maging dahilan ito ng pagkonti ng kanyang boto dahil ang mga Filipina fans nya ay pwedeng turned off sa mga katulad niyang supot?

“Wala pong problema sa akin kung sakaling kailanganin na ako ay magpabinyag dito sa ating bansa kung hihilingin ng mga fans dahil kailangan ko naman po ang tulong nila para manalo dito sa Artista Academy.” Sagot ni Bruno…

Mas maganda bangitin ang apelyido niyang Bruno kaysa sa pangalan niyang Alberto dahil sa pero unique ito at mas medaling tantadaan. Bilib din kami sa tatas magTagalog ng baguhan ito dahil talagang nag-crash course siya sa self study ng Tagalog para ams maintindihan daw siya ng mga fans.

Last Saturday ay isa siya sa nakakuha ng high marks sa ginawa niyang monologue sa AA Live Exams at naniniwala kami na malayo ang mararating ng binatang ito sa larangan ng showbiz manalo o matalo man sa AA.

SHOWBIZ MADIR NA MAY STAR COMPLEX

Dati rati ay ang asawa niya ang kanyang nire-represent pero dahil sa hindi inaasahang pangyayari ay mabilis na naputol ang business partnership nila. Kinuha kasi ni Lord si lalaki…

Ngayon ay ang kanyang mga anak na mina-manage nya… tatlo ang nakapasok na ang mga paa sa showbiz, dalawang babae at isang lalaki… pero madami pa siyang minamarket dahil mahigit sa isang basketball team ang nagawa nila ng namayapang asawa.

Pero balita na nagbalik ang yabang na nawala sa babaing ito nang pumanaw ang asawa nang biglaan namang bumango ang pangalan ng anak niyang lalaki na hindi naman guapo pero sabihin na nating suwerte dahil napansin sa kabila ng hindi naman kakisigan nito.

Akala daw yata ni showbiz madir ay sikat na sikat na ang dayunyor niya dahil nabigyan ng solo movie ng mother network nito… kaya sa kabila ng pagsemplang sa takilya ng nasabing peilkula ay tuloy ang pagtaas ng leeg ni madir at panay na raw ang irap nito sa mga dating kasamahang showbiz moms ng anak.

Balitang kinaiinisan daw ito maging ng mother ng ka-love team ng anak nya? Sana hindi totoo ang mga kwentong ito dahil baka ang anak naman niya ang kunin agad ni Lord! Wag naman po sana!

IT IS A TRAFFIC HOLIDAY

Imagine the main thoroughfares without the daily traffic? I am sure you will enjoy driving today... I even went to my radio program this morning without any stress.... 15 minutes drive from Cainta to Shaw Blvd. and another 20 minutes on my way back home just because I dropped off two friends to the MRT Station along Edsa.

It is a Traffic Holiday my dear people... Thank God for days like this!!!

Congratulations EAT BULAGA! 33 years is no easy feat but you guys make it look easy and fun filled... The show ages and mature but never the hosts who to date remains as youthful and strong as 33 years back!!! Congrats Mam Malou Choa-Fagar and Sir Tony Tuviera... your EB family remains intact and solid the way you dreamed it and sure hope you guys stay on top till another 33 plus more years!!! Mabuhay!!!

ANGELINE QUINTO AT JASON ABALOS MAS BAGAY

Napanood nyo ba ang episode na GONG sa Maalaala Mo Kaya last Saturday na pinagbidahan ni Angeline Quinto bilang isa babaing Bogobo at ni Jason Abalos? Marami ang nakapuna na mas may chemistry ang dalawang nabanggit na young stars dahil walang effort ang kanilang performance pero believable na in love sila sa isa’t-isa.

Sa pananghalian naming last Sunday kasama ang batikang character actress at komedyanang si Tya Pusit ay ito ang naging topic naming dahil sa pareho pala naming nasubaybayan ang palabas the night before.

Angeline gained good reviews for the episode dahil biglang magaling na siyang umarte at higit sa lahat ay bagay na bagay sa kanya ang kanyang role na naitawid nya nang natural at kapani-paniwala. Commendable din ang paggamit nila ng Bogobo dialect ng mga kasamahan nya sa cast.

Nakaka-inlove naman talaga ang role ni Jason Abalos na na-inlove sa character ni Angeline despite their cultural and physical differences.

Pero mas pinabilid kami ng cinematography ng episode where in one scene ay piangsama-sama na yata ang galing ng mata, ganda ng location, galing ng mga cast at ang super galing ng timing ng shot sa pagbuhos ng isang magandang ambon (read mahinang ulan) the timing of the shot was so perfect na hindi ko naiwasan ang maiyak dahil sa tamang timpla ng lahat ng bagay. Walang take two ito dahil hindi mo naman pwede sabihin sa ulan “take two tayo ulan!” and it was not a fake shower dahil wide shot iyon at hindi close up.

Samahan mo pa ng magandang production design… this episode could been best kung naging movie… Am sure na mas kikiligin ang mga fans ni Angeline kung si Jason ang gagawing permanent love team nya at hindi si Coco.

CHARICE AS THE BRIDE OF CHUCKIE

Ito ang naging tuksuhan after na mapanood ng mga kaibigan natin si Charice sa X Factor noong Sabado. At dahil ito sa grabeng blond hairdo at side swept curls ng International Singing Sensation. Sino nga raw ba ang bagong stylist ni Charice at bakit napapabayaan daw ang image ng dalaga?

Dahil din ba ito sa pagpapalit nya ng manager? Balita kasing ang dati niyang Production Assistant na isang American na ang kanyang manager.

Sa totoo lang parang name-miss naming ang dating simple at natural na ganda ni Charice na walang halong pretension at yabang! Despite this present impression ng inyong lingkod, I still am a big Charice fan dahil sa dinala niyang pride and honor sa ating bansa… Sana lang bumalik na ang dating Charice.

Yes, mahilig mamick-up ng hombre sa kahabaan ng Espana si comic, ang kaso iniiwasan na raw siya ng mga hustlers ng mahabang kalsada dahil sa sobrang pagtawad nito sa kanilang serbisyo.

VEGAS WEDDING FOR AiAi DELAS ALAS

Personal naming nakita sa set ng D’Buzz last Sunday ang present “Babe” ni Ms. AiAi Delas Alas na talaga naman guapo.

Kasama noon ng mag-inang AiAi at Sancho si Babe dahil may interview portion sila with Kuya Boy Abunda tungkol sa usaping ng pagtatapos sa kasong isinampa ng  isang convenient store employee laban sa anak na panganay ng Comedy Concert Queen.

Sa interview ay naging emotional ang mag-ina after nila mapagtagumpayan ang masalimuot na karanasan kung saan pinagbintangan nag-shop lifting si Sancho at natawag na magnanakaw.

Aminado si Sancho na na-trauma siya sa mga pangyayari dahil na rin sa mga taong humusga sa kanya lalo na sa social networking sites pero matibay ang samahan ng mag-ina at buo ang suportang ibinigay nila sa isa’t-isa hanggang sa natamo ang pagpapawalang sala kay Sancho ng hukuman.

Going back sa bagong “Babe” ni AiAi malakas ang balita sa loob ng D’Buzz na ikinasal na sa Las Vegas si Ai Ai ang kanyang bagong pag-ibig. Bagay na bagay naman talaga sila kaya super glowing at blooming ang ating bida!

Happy naman si Tito Boy sa development ng kaso ng mag-ina dahil sinabi talaga ni “AMA” na maraming masasabi kay Aileen pero hindi kailanman dapat na kwestiyunin ang pagiging ina nito dahil talaga namang super sa pag-aalaga at pagmamahal sa kanyang mga anak!

HOST NG NOONTIME SHOW… PAREHONG NALULONG SA MASAMANG BISYO

Bali-balita sa Loreto sa Sampalok ang pagkalulong ng magkaibigan hosts ng isang variety show sa droga dahil magkasabay pa raw itong imi-iscore at tumitira nito sa nasabing barangay.

Madali naman daw malaman kapag kargado ng droga ang dalawa dahil ang isa sa mga hosts ay nagiging hyper at super daldal samantalang hindi daw mapilit ng mga kasamahan ang isa sa mga kasama na magtanggal ng shades during the show.

Sana naman ay hindi totoo ang balitang ito dahil marami ang malulungkot kapag naapektuhan ng kanilang bisyo ang kanilang trabaho at propesyonalismo.

Marahirap kumaripas ng mabilis na takbo kahit gaano pa kahaba ang biyas mo at magsample ng matino kung ang utak mo ay gulong-gulo sa time ng show!!!

PERLA BAUTISTA BILANG TANDANG SORA

Ang Indie Film ng batikang actress na si Perla Bautista tungkol sa Ina ng Katipunan na si Tandang Sora ay malapit ng mapanood at bahagi ng pelikulang ito ang pagpapakita ng kakulangan ng respeto at pang-unawa ng mga kabataan sa mga senior citizens o elderly sa makabagong panahon.

Sabi nga ni Tita Perla… “Nais ipakita sa Melchora ang kahalagahan ng pagrespeto at pagbibigay atensyon sa mga matatanda dahil maging sa dapit hapon ng buhay ay mahalaga pa rin ang kaalamang maibabahagi ng mga ito dala ng kanilang experience at wisdom. Tulad ni Melchora na sa kabila ng mahigit na 80 years old na noong panahon ng digmaan ay naging sandigan pa rin ng mga Filipinong ipinakipaglaban ang kasarinlang tinatamasa natin ngayon!

Si Tita Perla ay isa sa mga haligi ng ating entertainment industry at mahigit sa 300 pelikula na ang kanyang nagawa at mahigit 200 daang bahagi sa mga programang panTV at payo nya sa mga bagong artista na nagbabakasakaling makapasok sa mundo ng pelikula at TV, magsipag, magtrabaho, maging magalang at maging marespeto sa lahat ng katrabaho,sikat man at maliit na tao ng produksyon, dahil dadating ang panahon na ang mga maliit ay lalaki at aasenso hanggang maging boss nyo at ang mga sikat ay tatanda at maging supporting nyo!

On the other hand... did you catch the wonderful scene in toniight's MMK episode "GONG" where Jason Abalos professes his love for the Bogobo Tribe beauty of Angeline Quinto?

The shot was so perfect and timing during a rain shower that the staging of it in a terrace rice field made it all the more enchanting and cinematic... The shot was so powerful complimented by the heart felt performance of the actors. Jason was very good in the scene where he seeks forgiveness in the muddy waters of the field.

The colors of the prod design was so vivid and picture perfect... congratulations MMK your still the ONE!!!

Did you see Charice's hairdo this evening in X Factor? What was her stylist and make-up/hairstylist thinking giving this "do" on her? Do you want your ward to be added to the worst look list na to the max... the hair color and cut is already an eye sore dinagdagan nyo pa ng ganitong side sweeping curls. what ere you all thinking? I love Charice so much and I hope she changes her consultants soonest before she even gets to notice she's fading fast!

 

 

 

Pinoy Adventures visit to Sarangani Province and its feature on the present water sports of the province is good but lacks the solid writing to entice viewers to visit the place. 

 

The redeeming thing about the episode is seeing Manny Pacquiao in his natural element and environment... I just cant help but notice the awkward welcome he gave the program host Richard Guittierez upon their initial on cam shot. He seems to be less interested in his visitor talking to him without looking at him and attending to several phone calls... this should have been done off come and not shown since it gives a different impression of the not so enthusiastic accommodation.

 

The scenes though of the Pacman and Richard during the Tube Water Rafting was nice but still not so warm as per Pinoy standard.

GOOD GLORIOUS MORNING

Good Glorious morning to everyone... the rain has stop and the floods have subsided... time to work anew for the redemption of our embattled spirits... stick to your guns and be reminded that each catastrophe we survive is just like a bullet we dodge... be wary that there are more ...be vigilant that there will be more and be strong to face more... However the MORE we SURVIVE the more we are BLESSED... for this only proves that the LORD ALMIGHTY is there to keep you safe and guarded ALL THE MORE!!!

However since there were lessons learned during that time... the people of the village are better equipped now to face the challenges of the situation.

DRIVING CRAZY IN THE RAIN

I braved the rain, drove in zero visibility, crossed the flooded streets and beat the traffic... all in a day combined with prayers and the fervent desire to get home safe... and yes I am home now wondering when the rain will stop to lighten the burden of all those stranded in the downpour and the flooded floors... GOD KEEP EVERYONE SAFE PLEASE... PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE!!!

ARTISTA ACADEMY

Attended the Press Visit invite for Artista Academy and was quite surprise by the candid interview we had with Akihiro Blanco, Alberto Bruno, Vin Abrenica and Benjo Leoncio from the boys and Marvelous Alejo from the girls...

I was much surprise by the good command of Tagalog by Italian Teen Alberto Bruno who comes w months each year during his school vacation in Italy where he is base.

Akihiro Blanco is the nephew of James Blanco and is half Japanese but has never set foot in Japan... but he is very promising and his face is just like James that will surely make a good product endorser with his pilyo but innocent looks.

Vin Abrenica is the younger borther of Aljur who is a graduate of Culinary Arts and who gamely showed us his perfectly chiseled abs that will definitely give his older brother a run for his money. I just hope he is a better actor than his sibling.

Benjo Leoncio is the guy from Cebu who is a combination of all the good looks of James Yap, Luis Alandi and Miguel of the PDA fame... I just hope he becomes more successful than his above mentioned look alikes.

Marvelous Alejo is 16 and petite but definitely beautiful and charming... She dreams of winning the title to be able to pay the present loans her family has accumulated during their family crisis which she is not yet ready to share and divulge!

All in all the five wannabe's I was able to interview were all interesting and promising!

It was also a nice opportunity to rekindle my friendship with former Kapuso Associates Camille Gamboa Montano and Peachy Guioguio.
